Junior Technical Project Manager

Overview

The NetGalley Junior Technical Project Manager (JTPM) will work with the development and product management teams to document, schedule, test and troubleshoot technical features of the NetGalley service.  These technical features include interactions between NetGalley and a variety of external services – including services used to send emails, process payments, and deliver content.

NetGalley uses the Agile process to develop software, which means that project requirements and solutions to problems are expected to evolve during the development process. For this reason, the JTPM will need to keep a close watch on work that is in progress and help adjust requirements as new information comes to light.  Testing is a critical part of this role.  The JTPM will be responsible for QA for the projects that s/he is managing.

The JTPM will also help other members of our team understand technical features and be responsible for 2nd level support related to them.  This will include helping to diagnose problems, determining what information should be provided back to the user and escalating problems to the Director of Product Management and/or development team as appropriate.

Eventually, this role will include defining requirements for improvements and additions to technical features.

The JTPM will also participate in regression testing for the NetGalley platform, app testing, and a variety of other small projects.

This is a remote position, but we will plan monthly meetups in NYC when it is safe to do so.  For this reason, candidates in the NYC metropolitan area will be preferred.
